DIY Valentine’s Day Double Heart Cookies

I know that the Winter Holidays are over and everyone needs a little bit of rest from so many creative projects but now we have to start preparing for Valentine’s Day. Even though you can say to your loved one’s that you love them without needing a holiday. But I really love Valentine’s Day with all the hearts and sweats and pink and red. And to start being inspired again and also to have ideas for V Day we will start our first DIY Valentine’s Day Project this year with these delicious double heart cookies. You will need: one pouch of sugar cookie mix, 1/3 cup of butter (make sure that is at room temperature), one tbsp of flour, one egg, one cup of powdered sugar, one tbsp of corn syrup, two tbsp of water, 1/4 tsp of almond extract. Also do not forget the food coloring and also sprinkles. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Take a big bowl and mix the following ingredients together: the egg, butter, sugar cookie pouch and the flour. Mix all ingredients well until the dough will look like a mini ball. Prepare your working station by sprinkling flour on the surface. Roll out the dough. You will need two heart shaped cookie cutters: a big one (approx 3 inch) and a smaller one (approx 1 1/2 inch). Place all the cookies on the cookie sheets. Bake them for 10 minutes. Let the cookies cool completely. Now its time to prepare the glaze. Whisk together the following ingredients: almond extract, corn syrup, sugar and water. Use food colorant to give the glaze what color you prefer. Take the big cookies and dip them in the glaze. The little ones (cookies) have to be dipped in the sprinkles. Now all you have to do is to put the little cookies on top of the bigger ones, let the glaze set for a few hours and your double heart cookies are done!!! Enjoy!
