Fun Art Project – Puff Pastry Intertwined With Sausages

Puff pastry on its own is a delicious and popular pastry that everyone just goes bananas about! Unfortunately, it is also one of the dishes that most people are afraid to make at home. But to make your loved ones know how special they are to you, you can go wild and make puff pastry at home and blow their minds of completely by carrying out a DIY project in the kitchen and make for them puff pastry and sausages. This is a fun art project in the kitchen, one that you will also love doing. The food art concept can be used for desserts or savory dishes. It is especially magnificent for vol-au-vents cases!

You will need the following ingredients: 8 oz, 230 g, basic multipurpose flour / 8 oz, 230 g, unsalted butter  that has been softened slightly / 1/4 teaspoon  of salt (Sea or ordinary) / 1/2 cup water, 4 fl oz, 240 ml / Sausages.

Follow the instructions: Filter the flour and salt into a big baking bowl. Add the water and mix to dough. Leave the mixture to rest for around 15 minutes. Roll the dough into a four-sided shape about 8 inches and place the butter in the middle. Now fold the edges of the pastry over the butter covering it completely.Cut the sausage into slices and intertwine with the pastry forming a box like pattern. Leave the mixture to rest for ten minutes then roll into an oblong shape. Leave the pastry and sausage to rest again. After having shaped the mixture into the desired pattern, rest the mixture in the fridge for ten minutes and when its time, take it out and bake it in the oven like you would normally bake the pastry dish. Remember as when you beat and roll the pastry before cutting and forming a pattern with the sausage, you will have spread butter all through. Make sure that the butter has been softened enough to allow you to roll it in the dough. The butter is what makes the pastry have a gloss shine after it’s baked. Before you bake, take the mixture out of the fridge and leave it for five minutes before putting it in the oven. You can serve your meticulously baked sausage puff pastry art for breakfast, lunch or dinner. For breakfast, serve the dish with a glass of cold raw milk, or freshly squeezed juice. Tea or coffee can also be added into the mix. For lunch since you want to keep your stomach light, serve your beautiful food art with steamed veggies or some mushroom soup, this will do the trick. For dinner on the other hand, you can go wild, serve the dish with a variety of soup and stew. Enjoy!!!
