Homemade Natural Dog Treat

Carrot and Banana Natural Dog Treat Recipe

 Materials:

  • Two and a half cups of whole wheat flour
  • Half a cup of cornmeal
  • One bunch of carrots (fresh), either grate or chop finely
  • Three bananas all peeled and mashed
  • One egg beaten
  • One thirds cup of veggie oil
  • Half a cup of cold water
  • Optional tablespoon of brown sugar

 

Instructions: 

  • Preheat the oven and get it to 350° F.
  • Place greased cooking sheets in the oven.
  • Mix together the flour, brown sugar and cornmeal, in a big mixing bowl.
  • Add into the mixture eggs, carrots, water, oil and bananas. Mix all together until they blend perfectly into a workable dough.
  •  Both the bananas and carrots can prior to being mixed, chopped into large pieces, and pulsed through the food processor slowly. This is a time effective process that allows you to create semi-regular sized carrot chunks together with smooth banana mash that will blend perfectly.
  • The pulsed carrot pieces should remain a little bit chunky if you love seeing some bit of carrot in the treat.
  • Prepare your workstation by flouring it, roll the dough and create a thickness that you prefer. Try half inch thickness that will allow room to expand once it has been baked. The cookies should be cut in shapes and sizes that are desired.
  • Go with the standard four inch bone shape from a cookie cutter if you may.
  • Your cookies should now go on baking sheets and bake them for thirty five minutes.
  • After baking, turn off the oven. Leave your treat inside to bake in the heat for forty five minutes until they become crispy.
  • Remove the treats from the oven and allow them to cool. You can bag some for storage and serve one or two to your lovely pet! Enjoy!!!
